Mark Widolff denied my girlfriend service for gas, cigarettes, and a couple drinks all because she is dating me! This Place is very prejudice and rude when it comes to serving food and drinks. I couldn't believe it when my girlfriend came home in tears because of how they treated her.
I stopped in to Widolffs after realizing I didn't have enough cash on me for the day. Put usual I asked for gas and cash back. The woman than states to some other lady working "can you check to see if her name matches the name on the piece of paper over there and if it does I can't help you "... Can you imagine the embarrassment and disbelief showing on my face. After finding out my name WAS the name on the paper, I asked why my name would be on there since EVERYTIME I had ever came in I had never had any issues. They shrugged their shoulders, I let them know I would be leaving a review and that I was overly irritated by the fact no one could tell me why I wasn't allowed to be helped by them anymore. It certainly wasn't because I didn't have money, I have more than enough money in my bank. And again I was ONLY going there because it was so nice to drive a short distance instead of going out my way, plus the interest rate was lower and I've always liked to help small businesses. After leaving my fiancé was using there restroom and over heard the woman talking about ME and HIM. One of the woman stated that " she was so and so's fiancé" and when the other woman asked who that is , she replied "some loser that lives with so&so down the street". Their abrasive manner towards me while I was present and also not in the store alone makes me want to never come back. As I stated above I was never told by anyone of the employees let alone the ownerthat coming there was a problem. So having my name read off a paper the owner had wrote, in front of multiple other customers was truly embarrassing.
I've recently moved to the state of Indiana around 5 months ago. To this day I am still learning my way around the small town I moved to, let alone the surrounding cities. Coming from downtown Cleveland where everything is minuets away from home, to a very rural area where the drive to an ATM can go up to 20 minuets. I heard of Widolffs from my mother in law stating she has gotten cash back there with a smaller percentage rate than an ATM (not to mention its right down the road from me verses the 20 minuet drive to Harrison to my ATM). I had been going to Widolffs for cash back and every time doing so I would purchase gas or pop to actually purchase something ontop of my cashback. (Knowing the gas there is easily 30cents or more than the gas anywhere else).
Widolff's is a great place to stop for lunch, to get gas or buy your groceries. I would highly recommend you stop there to check out this general store that serves the Northern Dearborn County area.
